Anticipating the restoration of Scotland’s independence, Demos Scotland is a community project with the aim of developing an online network devoted to the formulation of a Scottish Constitution.

Demos Scotland is the brainchild of the project’s co-directors, Dr Mark McNaught and Peter A Bell.

Mark is Assistant Professor of Law, Philosophy and US Civilization at the University of Rennes, Brittany. As well as his many contributions to the 2014 Scottish independence debate, he spent last semester in Barcelona working with Constituïm, a citizens group which has drafted a constitution for an independent Catalonia.

Peter has a background in corporate imaging and event organisation. Now retired, he works full time writing for various pro-independence online and print publications as well as undertaking occasional speaking engagements.

The aim of Demos Scotland is to utilise modern communication and cooperation technology to create a network of expertise and ideas with the purpose of contributing to the process of conceiving a Scottish Constitution.

Interested parties are cordially invited to join the Demos Scotland project and contribute to the process of conceiving a new Constitution for Scotland.
